A telescopic handler, also called a teleporter or a reach forklift, is a piece of equipment widely used in the agriculture industry. It is somewhat like a forklift but has a telescopic cylinder, making it more a crane than a forklift, with the expanded versatility of a single telescopic boom that can extend forward and upward from the machine. The boom can be fitted with different attachments, such as pallet forks or a muck grab. In construction, the most common attachment for a lull is pallet forks and the most common application is to move loads to and from places unreachable for a standard forklift. For instance, telehandlers have the ability to remove palletized material from within a box truck and to place that cargo on to rooftops and other elevated locations. The latter application would otherwise require a crane, which is not always practical or time-efficient on a work site. In agriculture the most widely used attachment for a telehandler is a bucket, again the most common application is to move loads from and to unreachable for a 'conventional machine' which in this case is a wheeled loader or backhoe loader.
