A telehandler, also known as a lull or a reach forklift, is a piece of equipment widely used in the agriculture industry. It is somewhat like a forklift but has a boom, making it more a crane than a forklift, with the increased versatility of a single telescopic boom that can extend upward and forward from the vehicle. The boom can be fitted with different attachments, such as a bucket or a winch.
In construction, the most common attachment for a telehandler is pallet forks and the most common application is to move material from and to places unreachable for a conventional forklift. For instance, zoom booms have the ability to remove palletized product from within a trailer and to place that material on to rooftops and other elevated places. The latter application would otherwise require a crane, which is not always practical or time-efficient on a job site.
In agriculture the most widely used attachment for a teleporter is a bucket, and the most widely used application is to move loads to and from places unobtainable for a 'conventional machine' which is typically is a wheeled loader or backhoe loader. For example, teleporters have the ability to extend directly into a high-sided trailer or hopper. The latter application would otherwise require a conveyor, or something similar
