A telescopic handler, also known as a teleporter or a reach forklift, is a machine commonly used in the construction industry. It is similar to a forklift but has a telescopic cylinder, making it more a crane than a forklift, with the expanded versatility of a single telescopic boom that can reach upward and forward from the vehicle. The boom can be fitted with different attachments, such as a bucket or a winch. In construction, the most common attachment for a lull is pallet forks and the most common application is to move loads from and to locations unreachable for a standard forklift. For example, reach forklifts have the ability to remove palletized product from within a container and to place that product on to rooftops and other high places. The latter use would otherwise require a crane, which is not always practical or time-efficient on a job site. In the agricultural industry the most widely used attachment for a reach forklift is a bucket, again the most widely used application is to transport from and to unreachable for a 'conventional machine' which in this case is a wheeled loader or backhoe loader. For example, lulls are able to reach directly into a high-sided trailer or hopper. The latter application would otherwise require a conveyor, or something similar
