A telehandler, also called a lull or a zoom boom, is a piece of equipment commonly used in the construction industry. It is somewhat like a forklift but has a telescopic cylinder, making it more a crane than a forklift, with the expanded versatility of a single telescopic boom that can reach upward and forward from the machine. The boom can be fitted with different attachments, such as pallet forks or a muck grab. In industry, the most common attachment for a teleporter is pallet forks and the most widely used application is to move material from and to locations unreachable for a standard forklift. For example, teleporters have the capability to move palletized material from within a trailer and to place that product on to rooftops and other high places. The latter use would otherwise require a crane, which is not always practical or time-efficient in a construction zone. In agriculture the most widely used attachment for a zoom boom is a bucket, again the most common application is to transport from and to unobtainable for a 'conventional machine' which is typically is a wheeled loader or backhoe loader. For instance, teleporters have the ability to reach directly into a high-sided trailer or hopper. The latter application would otherwise require a conveyor, or something similar
