A telehandler, also known as a lull or a zoom boom, is a piece of equipment widely used in the agriculture industry. It is similar to a forklift but has a boom, making it more a crane than a forklift, with the expanded versatility of a single telescopic boom that can extend forward and upward from the machine. The boom can be fitted with different attachments, such as pallet forks or a muck grab. In industry, the most widely used attachment for a lull is pallet forks and the most common application is to move loads from and to locations unreachable for a conventional forklift. For example, zoom booms have the capability to move palletized cargo from within a box truck and to place that material on to rooftops and other high places. The latter use would otherwise require a crane, which is not always practical or time-efficient on a work site. In the agricultural industry the most widely used attachment for a reach forklift is a bucket, again the most widely used application is to transport from and to unreachable for a 'conventional machine' which is typically is a wheeled loader or backhoe loader.
