A telehandler, also known as a teleporter or a zoom boom, is a machine often used in the construction industry. It is somewhat like a forklift but has a boom, making it more like a crane than a forklift, with the increased versatility of a single telescopic boom that can reach upward and forward from the vehicle. The boom can be fitted with different attachments, such as a bucket or a winch. In construction, the most common attachment for a reach forklift is pallet forks and the most widely used application is to move material from and to places unreachable for a conventional forklift. For example, zoom booms have the ability to remove palletized cargo from within a container and to place that cargo on to rooftops and other elevated places. The latter application would otherwise require a crane, which is not always practical or time-efficient on a job site. In the agricultural industry the most widely used attachment for a lull is a bucket, and the most widely used application is to transport to and from places unobtainable for a 'conventional machine' which is typically is a wheeled loader or backhoe loader.
