A telehandler, also called a lull or a zoom boom, is a piece of equipment often used in the construction industry. It is somewhat like a forklift but has a telescopic cylinder, making it more a crane than a forklift, with the increased versatility of a single telescopic boom that can extend forward and upward from the machine. The boom can be fitted with different attachments, such as a bucket or a winch. In construction, the most widely used attachment for a zoom boom is pallet forks and the most widely used application is to move material from and to locations unreachable for a standard forklift. For example, zoom booms have the capability to remove palletized product from within a trailer and to place that cargo on to rooftops and other elevated locations. The latter application would otherwise require a crane, which is not always practical or time-efficient in a construction zone. In the agricultural industry the most widely used attachment for a teleporter is a bucket grab, again the most common application is to transport to and from places unobtainable for a 'conventional machine' which is typically is a wheeled loader or backhoe loader. For instance, reach forklifts have the ability to extend directly into a high-sided trailer or hopper. The latter application would otherwise require a loading ramp, or something similar
