A telehandler, also called a lull or a zoom boom, is a piece of equipment often used in the construction industry. It is somewhat like a forklift but has a boom, making it more like a crane than a forklift, with the expanded versatility of a single telescopic boom that can extend forward and upward from the vehicle. The boom can be fitted with different attachments, such as pallet forks or a muck grab. In industry, the most common attachment for a lull is pallet forks and the most widely used application is to move loads from and to locations unattainable for a standard forklift. For example, teleporters have the capability to move palletized cargo from within a trailer and to place that material on to rooftops and other elevated locations. The latter use would otherwise require a crane, which is not always practical or time-efficient on a work site. In agriculture the most common attachment for a teleporter is a bucket grab, again the most widely used application is to move loads to and from places unobtainable for a 'conventional machine' which is typically is a wheeled loader or backhoe loader. For example, teleporters are able to extend directly into a high-sided trailer or hopper. The latter application would otherwise require a loading ramp, or something similar
