A telehandler, also called a lull or a reach forklift, is a piece of equipment often used in the agriculture industry. It is similar to a forklift but has a telescopic cylinder, making it more like a crane than a forklift, with the expanded versatility of a single telescopic boom that can extend upward and forward from the machine. The boom can be fitted with different attachments, such as a bucket or a winch. In construction, the most common attachment for a reach forklift is pallet forks and the most widely used application is to move material to and from locations unattainable for a standard forklift. For example, lulls have the capability to remove palletized cargo from within a trailer and to place that product on to rooftops and other high places. The latter application would otherwise require a crane, which is not always practical or time-efficient on a job site. In agriculture the most common attachment for a teleporter is a bucket grab, again the most common application is to move loads to and from places unobtainable for a 'conventional machine' which is typically is a wheeled loader or backhoe loader. For instance, telehandlers are able to extend directly into a high-sided trailer or hopper. The latter application would otherwise require a conveyor, or something similar
