A telescopic handler, also called a lull or a reach forklift, is a machine often used in the construction industry. It is somewhat like a forklift but has a boom, making it more like a crane than a forklift, with the expanded versatility of a single telescopic boom that can reach upward and forward from the vehicle. The boom can be fitted with different attachments, such as a bucket or a winch. In construction, the most widely used attachment for a telehandler is pallet forks and the most common application is to move material from and to places unreachable for a standard forklift. For example, teleporters have the capability to remove palletized cargo from within a container and to place that material on to rooftops and other high places. The latter use would otherwise require a crane, which is not always practical or time-efficient in a construction zone. In the agricultural industry the most widely used attachment for a teleporter is a bucket grab, and the most widely used application is to transport from and to unobtainable for a 'conventional machine' which is typically is a wheeled loader or backhoe loader. For instance, teleporters are able to extend directly into a high-sided trailer or hopper. The latter application would otherwise require a conveyor, or something similar
