A telehandler, also called a lull or a zoom boom, is a piece of equipment often used in the agriculture industry. It is similar to a forklift but has a boom, making it more like a crane than a forklift, with the expanded versatility of a single telescopic boom that can extend forward and upward from the vehicle. The boom can be fitted with different attachments, such as a bucket or a muck grab. In industry, the most common attachment for a lull is pallet forks and the most widely used application is to move material from and to places unreachable for a conventional forklift. For example, zoom booms have the capability to remove palletized product from within a box truck and to place that material on to rooftops and other elevated places. The latter application would otherwise require a crane, which is not always practical or time-efficient on a job site. In the agricultural industry the most common attachment for a telehandler is a bucket grab, again the most widely used application is to move loads from and to unreachable for a 'conventional machine' which is typically is a wheeled loader or backhoe loader. For example, telehandlers are able to extend directly into a high-sided trailer or hopper. The latter application would otherwise require a conveyor, or something similar
