A telehandler, also called a lull or a zoom boom, is a piece of equipment often used in the construction industry. It is similar to a forklift but has a telescopic cylinder, making it more like a crane than a forklift, with the increased versatility of a single telescopic boom that can reach forward and upward from the machine. The boom can be fitted with different attachments, such as a bucket or a muck grab. In industry, the most common attachment for a teleporter is pallet forks and the most common application is to move material from and to places unreachable for a conventional forklift. For instance, teleporters have the ability to remove palletized product from within a trailer and to place that cargo on to rooftops and other high places. The latter use would otherwise require a crane, which is not always practical or time-efficient in a construction zone. In agriculture the most common attachment for a reach forklift is a bucket, and the most common application is to move loads from and to unreachable for a 'conventional machine' which is typically is a wheeled loader or backhoe loader.
