A telehandler, also called a teleporter or a reach forklift, is a piece of equipment widely used in the agriculture industry. It is similar to a forklift but has a telescopic cylinder, making it more like a crane than a forklift, with the increased versatility of a single telescopic boom that can reach upward and forward from the machine. The boom can be fitted with different attachments, such as a bucket or a muck grab. In construction, the most common attachment for a lull is pallet forks and the most widely used application is to move material to and from locations unattainable for a conventional forklift. For example, reach forklifts have the ability to remove palletized material from within a container and to place that product on to rooftops and other elevated places. The latter use would otherwise require a crane, which is not always practical or time-efficient on a work site. In the agricultural industry the most widely used attachment for a reach forklift is a bucket, again the most widely used application is to move loads to and from places unreachable for a 'conventional machine' which is typically is a wheeled loader or backhoe loader.
